NEW YORK Women’s Texans Arian Foster Jersey — When Mike Napoli rushed to the visiting dugout on Saturday, celebrating his ninth-inning homer off Masahiro Tanaka, he was unaware that his voice could be heard by the FOX microphones perched near the playing field.

The telecast picked up Napoli shouting, “What an idiot!”, surprised and elated that Tanaka threw him a 96-mph fastball Arian Foster Houston Texans Red Jersey after the Boston slugger had so much trouble connecting with the hurler’s breaking pitches earlier in the 2-1 Red Sox victory.

At a more heated time in the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry, Napoli’s comment might have sparked a war of words or more, but that does not appear to be the case now. Multiple Yankees Arian Foster Cheap said on Sunday that they did not have an issue with Napoli because the comment was intended to be shared privately with teammates.

“That wasn’t a big deal,” Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira said. “I have no problem with it at all. If everything that was said inside a dugout or clubhouse was public knowledge, no one would ever talk about the game.”

Yoshiki Sato, Tanaka’s public relations representative, said that the pitcher was made aware of the comment late on Saturday night but that he was not upset by it. Yankees manager Joe Girardi also said that he did not have an issue with Napoli’s words.

“I don’t make much of it,” Girardi said. “It’s yesterday, the heat of the moment, and doesn’t really change the complexion of the game. It doesn’t really change today’s game.”

Girardi added that Napoli’s reputation does not lead him to believe that there were ill intentions with the comment.

“I haven’t seen anything in Mike Napoli where he’s a guy that shows people up, or he’s a guy that degrades people,” Girardi said. “Unfortunately, everything is seen now in the world we live in, but I’ve never had the sense that he’s a bad guy. He’s a guy that plays hard and loves to play the game.”

Red Sox manager John Farrell said that he and his team both have “the utmost respect for Tanaka,” while adding that “the one thing we don’t ever want our players to be is non-emotional.”

Teixeira said that there should never be a reason for players to censor their in-game commentary in or around the dugout area.

“I don’t think it gets over the line, but if it ever does go over the line where too much is shown, then we’ll just have [the microphones] taken out. Arian Foster Texans Women’s Jersey It’s as simple as that,” Teixeira said.

NEW YORK — One day after mentioning that the bone spur in his right elbow might be responsible for some of his issues at the plate, Carlos Beltran clarified on Sunday that he has been dealing more with lingering soreness in his forearm.

Beltran may have turned a corner after his performance during Sunday’s 8-5 loss against the Red Sox. He went 3-for-4 with a double and a home run. Since hitting a game-winning three-run homer against the Orioles on June 20, Beltran had been mired in a 2-for-25 slump entering Sunday.

“Good results, that’s all basically,” Beltran said about what was different for him in this game. “I felt like I had a good approach and felt like I had good at-bats. I put good at-bats together and got good results.”

Yankees manager Joe Girardi checked with Beltran on Sunday afternoon after being informed of the veteran’s comments, and Beltran assured Girardi that he did not need a day off and would be ready to play Sunday.

“My elbow feels fine. It’s just the forearm, when I started throwing, it kind of got tight,” Beltran said before the game. “Now the knot is almost gone. It’s still sore a little bit on the top, but it’s improving.”

Girardi added: “When the player tells me he’s fine and you ask him on a daily basis, I believe Arian Foster Houston Texans Jersey for Sale him. I know his forearm is a little bit sore, but we believe that had to do with the throwing.”

Girardi said that the Yankees are tentatively planning to have Beltran resume throwing in a week. Beltran said that it has been frustrating not to be able to play the field and to require so much time in the training room.

“I just need to find a way to not think about it,” Beltran said.

NEW YORK — Masahiro Tanaka further solidified his case to be an American League All-Star with his latest pitching gem against the Red Sox on Saturday night.

Tanaka struck out eight and held Boston to two runs in a complete game but came away with a loss, which Arian Foster Jersey dropped his record to 11-3 on the season. But Tanaka leads the Majors in wins, the American League in ERA at 2.10, is in the Top 5 in the Majors in strikeouts (127) and has recorded a quality start in each of his 16 starts to begin his rookie season.

“It’s hard to say that his start isn’t as good as anyone who has ever pitched,” Yankees manager Joe Girardi said recently.

Tanaka is certainly deserving of a bid to the All-Star Game, and possibly deserves to be named the starter. However, if the schedule holds serve, he might not be able to pitch.

The way the Yankees’ rotation is currently aligned, Tanaka is scheduled to start on Sunday, July 13 in Baltimore, the final game before the All-Star break, making him ineligible to pitch in the All-Star Game on Tuesday.

LOS ANGELES — The decision isn’t Don Mattingly’s to make — it’s up to National League captain Troy Tulowitzki — but the Dodgers manager said Saturday he thinks outfielder Yasiel Puig could hold his own in the Home Run Derby.

“I think he would be really good, really good,” Mattingly said of Puig, who has 11 homers this season. “I’d like his chances to win the thing.”

Some have argued the Derby can have a negative impact on players’ swings, but Mattingly isn’t one of those people.

“You watch these guys take BP, they launch them all the time,” Mattingly said. “I think some guys are better than other guys at it.”

As of the most recent update, Puig leads all NL outfielders in fan voting. He’s looking to become only the second Dodgers outfielder to accomplish that feat, with the last being Darryl Strawberry in 1991.

Mattingly cast his own vote Saturday, voicing praise for second baseman Dee Gordon and first baseman Adrian Gonzalez.

“Dee’s played really well. Clowney Jersey He’s deserving of consideration — that’s for sure,” Mattingly said. “I think Adrian’s another guy who’s worth consideration. Yasiel, obviously.”

LOS ANGELES — Dodgers infielders Hanley Ramirez and Justin Turner were injured during a six-run second inning of Jadeveon Clowney South Carolina Gamecocks Football Jersey Saturday’s game against the Cardinals, with Turner expected to go on the disabled list with a strained left hamstring.

Explanation from the Dodgers of the type and severity of Ramirez’s injury was fuzzy. Ramirez said it was the right calf, a club official said it was the left. Manager Don Mattingly said he didn’t know. Ramirez didn’t act as if it was particularly serious.

Turner’s is, even though he said he slowed to a trot when he felt it go as he rounded first on an RBI double. Jadeveon Clowney Jersey Number Texans Turner said he Men’s Nike #90 Jadeveon Clowney Houston Texans Elite Team Color Jersey didn’t believe the injury was related to the right calf strain from which he just returned.

“Any time you What is Jadeveon Clowney Jersey Number in Houston Texans get hurt and go on the disabled list is frustrating,” said Turner, who is 37-for-99 with 17 RBIs since May 11. “It’s more so when you feel so good at the plate.”

Ramirez missed the previous four games with an arthritic shoulder and was inserted into Saturday’s lineup an hour before first pitch. Manager Don Mattingly said he thinks Ramirez was hurt legging out an infield single in the first inning. Ramirez missed four games in May after injuring his left calf.

Miguel Rojas took over at shortstop and Juan Uribe at third base. Carlos Triunfel is expected to be recalled Sunday to take Turner’s sport.

LOS ANGELES — After three elbow operations and 22 months since his last Major League appearance, Scott Elbert believes he’ll be ready to help the Dodgers around the All-Star break.

The left-handed reliever is finally in a rehab without setbacks and is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Sunday at Dodger Stadium, then go to Triple-A Albuquerque to pitch in back-to-back games Tuesday and Wednesday, the final serious test of the Tommy John surgery on his elbow.

Elbert said his velocity is 88-91 mph (“free and easy”) and his slider has “more depth” than it did in 2012.

“I’m not throwing across my body as much,” he said. “I’ve had all the time in the world to work on that. I’m able to command both sides of the plate easier. I’m just happy to be back on the mound.”

Manager Don Mattingly said Elbert will probably remain on his rehab assignment past Wednesday as he continues to rebuild arm strength.

“I’m happy with Scotty’s progress,” Mattingly said. “We’ve talked about it a number of times — it’s been awhile now where everything’s been pretty much positive. There hasn’t been any negatives. He hasn’t skipped a ‘pen. He’s been moving along.”

CHICAGO — Manny Ramirez made his Triple-A Iowa Cubs debut on Thursday in Colorado Springs, starting in left field and going 0-for-4 in a 7-6 loss. But Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein didn’t sign Ramirez Jadeveon Clowney Jersey Number Texans to play. Epstein is hoping the players take advantage of the 42-year-old’s expertise and experience.

“His goal is he wants to help young players,” Epstein said Friday. “He wants to give back to the game — in his words, to give back to the game that’s done so much for him. I didn’t believe it the first time I heard it, but after repeated conversations and talking to people who are around Manny day in and day Jadeveon Clowney Texans Jersey Number out, he’s definitely changed for the better.”

Ramirez, 42, spent nearly 20 years in the Major Leagues with the Indians, Red Sox, Dodgers, Rays and White Sox. He finished with 555 home runs, a .312 batting average, 2,574 hits and 1,831 RBIs.

The first thing Ramirez did when he reported to the Cubs’ complex in Mesa, Ariz., was gather all the players and talk to them about following what he does on the field and learning from the mistakes he made off the field.

“We didn’t ask him to do that — he did it on his own,” Epstein said.

A 12-time All-Star and nine-time Silver Slugger winner, Ramirez’s career was tarnished by a 50-game suspension and a 100-game suspension — after which he opted to retire — for violating baseball’s drug policy.

“[Manny] definitely was a headache, and he admits it,” Epstein said. “It’s good to believe in What is Jadeveon Clowney Jersey Number in Houston Texans redemption and second chances, and it’s nice to see people change for the better.”

So far, so good for Ramirez.

“They said everyone is already following him around like the Pied Piper,” Epstein said.

CHICAGO — Fortunately for Junior Lake, he was able to laugh about his head-on collision with the outfield wall.

“I went too fast into the wall,” Lake said Friday of his crash into the metal door in the second inning of Thursday night’s 5-3 win over the Nationals. “When I looked again, I was too close to the wall, and when I dove, I hit the door. That’s crazy. But I’m feeling good.”

Lake came out of the game after the freak accident, suffering bruises on his head and left leg, although he did try to talk the medical staff, including team physician Dr. Stephen Adams, into letting him keep playing.

“[Adams] asked me, ‘Do you know where you are?’ And Jadeveon Clowney Texans Youth Shirts I said, ‘Yeah,'” Lake said. “I said, ‘I’m alive.’ That’s when I started laughing.”

Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein said they may talk about whether or not to add padding to the metal doors in the outfield wall. The ivy does provide a little cushioning, but the outfielders know to slow up once they hit the warning track. It’s brick behind the greenery.

“The ivy does provide a little bit of a buffer on the brick — you’re not going to put pads on the brick,” Epstein said.

Lake was available to pinch-hit on Friday, said manager Rick Renteria, who was impressed by the outfielder’s effort.

“For him, it could’ve been a sponge wall and the effort he gave was going to be the same,” Renteria said. “I don’t think guys think about the wall, to be honest.”

CHICAGO — Anthony Rizzo has 14 home runs since April 30, the most in the National League in that stretch, and the Cubs are hoping it’s enough to get the first baseman into the All-Star Game for the first time in his young career.

“He’s been through a lot in his life — he beat cancer at a young age, bounced back from that,” said Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein. “I’ll never forget that he hit a double in his first at-bat back on the field against a rehabbing big leaguer [after cancer].

“He’s been traded twice, went through a tough couple months in the big leagues, bounced back,” Epstein said. “He’s already overcome so much and deserves to be where he is. I hope he’s rewarded for it.”

On Thursday, Rizzo posted his sixth game of three or more hits this season. According to Elias, the only first basemen with more three-hit games this season are the Braves’ Freddie Freeman (nine) and the Tigers’ Miguel Cabrera (eight).

Rizzo could be joined at the July 15 All-Star Game in Minneapolis by Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro, who has 21 RBIs in June, third most in the NL. Castro is the fourth Cubs shortstop to reach at least 21 RBIs in the month of June, joining Hall of Famer Ernie Banks (1959, ’60), Roy Smalley (’50) and Shawon Dunston (’88).

“He’s lucky — he gets to hit behind me,” Rizzo said, jokingly, about Castro, who has thrived in the No. 4 spot behind Rizzo since Jadeveon Clowney Women’s Jersey moving there April 25. “He’s done a great job. He’s not trying to hit home runs or anything. It’s not about that, it’s about getting on base and letting other guys do the job.”

CHICAGO — The Cubs have traded two starting pitchers in each of the last two seasons, and Jason Hammel may be next to go by the Trade Deadline. The right-hander’s name has been linked to several teams interested in adding a starting pitcher for the final two months of the season.

“It’s the usual chatter this time of year,” Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein said Friday about calls he’s had from teams. “There are talks, but probably not as much as you’d think sometimes by clicking on all the websites.”

Hammel and Jeff Samardzija both have reportedly drawn interest from teams. The Cubs are still trying to stock the farm system with young talent, and in the last two years, they have acquired players such as Kyle Hendricks, Mike Olt, Neil Ramirez, Justin Grimm, Corey Black and C.J. Edwards in deals.

Hammel improved to 7-0 in his career against the Nationals in Friday’s 7-2 win, allowing two runs on five hits, while striking out six, over 6 1/3 innings.

Cubs manager Rick Renteria said he’s not thinking now about any roster changes after the July 31 Deadline.

“I’m not going to assume [there will be changes] and will continue to do what I do,” Renteria said. “If change occurs, I’ll deal with it.”

Iconic Gwynn Andre Johnson Nike Elite Jesey left left imprint on San Diego like no other

Andre Johnson Nike Elite Jesey

SAN DIEGO — Tony Gwynn may be the single most important sports figure in history to a single community.

Gwynn began his career as a star baseball and basketball player at San Diego State and spent the last 12 years of his life as head coach of the baseball team. That served as neat bookends to his 20 years playing for the Padres.

Tony Gwynn

With apologies to Dan Fouts, Junior Seau, Bill Walton and even Trevor Hoffman, San Diego has only one real icon, Tony Gwynn.

“I didn’t Houston Texans Andre Johnson 10th Anniversary NFL Jersey even come close,” Hoffman said after Thursday night’s emotional tribute to the late Gwynn at Petco Park. “I didn’t start my career here. I didn’t finish here. I didn’t go to college here and circle back and Andre Johnson Captain Patch Jersey be a coach and what that means to walk on the Mesa and touch the student body and talk to the student body and be there for them. Yeah, you’re going to be hard pressed to find anybody as significant as Tony Gwynn to a particular city.”

Hoffman, who began his career with the Marlins, finished it with the Brewers, and in between had 552 of his National League record 601 saves in 16 years closing for the Padres, knows from which he speaks. The fans — 23,229 — came to say goodbye to the man known as Mr. Padre, waiting in long lines by the thousands hours before the gates opened, visiting the statue of Gwynn in the Park at the Park that is surrounded now by wreaths and memorabilia.

Gwynn passed away in the early morning hours of June 16 from the complications of a long battle with salivary gland cancer at nearby Pomerado Hospital in Poway, Calif. He was 54.

Gwynn’s imprint on the community went far beyond his .338 lifetime batting average, eight NL batting titles, 3,141 Andre Johnson Shirts hits and a plaque in the National Baseball Hall of Fame that will be there as long as there is a museum in Cooperstown, N.Y.

“He was special. I wouldn’t presume to tell the fans of San Diego how great Tony Gwynn was on the field,” said Rob Manfred, Major League Baseball’s chief operating officer, one of the many speakers on Thursday night. “You had him. All 20 years. When you’re around the game, you hear people talk about the baseball family. He was the perfect member of the baseball family.”

Manfred went on to say that Gwynn was special, not only because of his Hall of Fame talent and devotion to the game, “but the values he came to represent.”

Those values were evident to anyone who covered him from the time he came up to the Padres as a kid for good in late 1983 to the teammates he played with across Andre Johnson Jersey for Kids the decades. And you can take that to the bank from someone who saw Gwynn’s first hit, his last hit and most of them in between.

From Steve Garvey, who played with Gwynn from 1983-88, including the Padres’ first trip to the World Series in 1984, a five-game loss to the Tigers.

“I think he was the consummate professional both on and Andre Johnson Football Apparel off the field,” Garvey said. “He was one of Andre Johnson Jersey those rare athletes who was infectious. And it started with that smile. Only a few have it. Magic [Johnson] has it. I was fortunate to play his first five years with him in San Diego. After that he grew and matured and became a statesman of the game. For a teammate he was the wind beneath our wings. He was the guy who flew the plane when things were going well and when they weren’t he lifted you higher.”

From Hoffman, who played with Gwynn from 1993 to the five-time Gold Glove Award-winning right-fielder’s retirement in 2001, including the sweep in the 1998 World Series by the Yankees.

“It was great to be able to hear so many words spoken about the man vs. the ballplayer,” Hoffman said after the ceremony. “So rarely do you hear such things said about someone in such rarified air especially as a ballplayer. There’s usually some deficiency in some area or another. That was not the case with Tony Gwynn. When you think of Tony you think of San Diego in the same breath. As much as he loved San Diego, the fans of San Diego loved him back.”

The fans didn’t need much chiding. Ted Leitner, the long-time Padres broadcaster and Thursday Andre Johnson Jersey Sale night’s master of ceremonies, began the memorial by asking them to give Gwynn a standing ovation “one last time.” They did so as if Gwynn had just pounded out another four-hit game. At the end, wiping away tears, Leitner asked the crowd to chant, “Ton-y, Ton-y,” as if to conjure No. 19 coming out of the dugout for one final curtain call.

And with that, the lights were turned out in the ballpark where Gwynn never played a game and a single spotlight was directed on his retired 19, hanging above the green hitting eye in dead center field as a singer belted out her mournful rendition of “Amazing Grace.”

Gwynn’s career and his life seem now like a blip on the radar screen, having flashed across the sky like a comet, come and gone in an instant. Only its tail remains.

“To the fans, he loved you and appreciated you more than I can convey in words,” John Boggs, Gwynn’s agent and business manager for 30 years, told the crowd. “He loved the city of San Diego. He loved being an Aztec and he most definitely loved being a Padre. He was and always will be Mr. Padre.”

Price in rarefied air with J. J. Watt Merchandise strikeout strikeout streak

David Price is on a roll that very few pitchers can even comprehend. Tampa Bay’s southpaw ace struck out at least 10 batters for the fifth consecutive start on Wednesday, a run of dominance that has been equalled by just seven other pitchers over the past 100 years.

A five-start streak with at least 10 strikeouts has been Watt Jersey achieved 22 times in 100 years, but a few pitchers have done it multiple times. Noted strikeout artists Nolan Ryan (three times), Randy Johnson (eight times) and Pedro Martinez (six times) are the only pitchers to do it more than once.

But don’t be mistaken by that group’s Men’s Nike Houston Texans 99 J. J. Watt Elite Lights Out Black Jersey casual dominance: This feat doesn’t happen all that often. Before Price’s current streak, the most recent big league starter to go five starts in a row with at least 10 strikeouts was Johan Santana, and he did it en route to the 2004 Cy Young Award.

With his fifth consecutive double-digit strikeout game, David Price is the eighth pitcher to have a strikeout streak of five games or more. And he’s one game shy of joining a select group who’ve completed the feat over six-plus games.
Pitcher Team Start End Games
Pedro Martinez BOS 8/19/99 9/27/99 8
Randy Johnson ARI 4/13/01 5/1301 7
Pedro Martinez BOS 4/15/99 5/18/99 7

Pedro Martinez MON 6/3/97 6/30/97 6
Nolan Ryan CAL 9/25/72 4/18/73 6

Price, who worked into the ninth inning of Wednesday’s 5-1 win over Pittsburgh, has won just two times in his five-start stretch, losing three times despite dominant statistics. Price has a 2.27 ERA in his past five J. J. Watt Nike Elite Jesey starts, and he’s struck out 54 batters — a team record for most in a month — while allowing just 32 hits.

The left-hander started the streak by striking out 11 Marlins in a 5-4 loss to Miami, and five days later, he struck out 10 Mariners in a 3-0 shutout loss. Price faced the Astros twice in a row — striking out 10 and 12 batters — before whiffing 11 Pirates in Wednesday’s victory.

The Major League record in this category is eight J. J. Watt Captain Patch Jersey straight starts with at least 10 strikeouts, and just one person has done that. Martinez went eight straight outings for Boston with 10 or more whiffs in 1999, and he had a separate seven-game streak in that same Cy Young Award season. Martinez managed a six-game streak in 1997, and he had three other streaks of at least five 10-strikeout outings.

Almost all of those seasons came at the right-hander’s peak of dominance. Martinez won the Cy Young Award three times, and five of his six strikeout streaks came during those campaigns.

A similar trend can be observed for Johnson: Five of his eight Houston Texans J. J. Watt 10th Anniversary NFL Jersey strikeout streaks came in seasons where he won the Cy Young Award. Johnson is second in all-time strikeouts (4,875), and he has five of the league’s 10 longest all-time streaks of at least six starts with 10 or more strikeouts. All five of those streaks came between 1998 and J. J. Watt Football Apparel 2002, when Johnson won four Cy Young Awards in a five-year stretch.

And if you expected to see Ryan in this category, you won’t be disappointed. Ryan struck out a record 5,714 batters over his epic 27-year career, but he matched Price’s feat just three times. Amazingly, two of J. J. Watt Jersey for Kids those streaks happened 17 years apart. Ryan went five straight starts with 10 strikeouts for the first time in 1972, and the Hall of Famer was able to do it again at the age of 42 in 1989.

The other pitchers in this category — Santana, Curt Schilling, Dwight Gooden and J.R. Richard — all had their own signature runs of dominance. Gooden’s unhittable stretch came in 1984 when he was just 19 years old, and he parlayed his 17-9 record and 2.60 ERA into a Rookie of the Year Award.

Schilling went 17-11 with a 2.97 ERA in 1997, the year he put together his strikeout streak, and Richard cobbled his together over two seasons. The right-hander started his strikeout streak at the end of the 1979 season, and he kept it going into 1980. Richard had an All-Star season and a 1.90 ERA through 17 starts in 1980, but his standout career was halted due to an emergency medical condition.

Gooden and Richard both managed to strike out more than 60 batters during their five-start streaks. Gooden went 4-1 with a 1.26 ERA and 65 strikeouts in his dominant stretch in 1984, and Richard posted a 3-1 record and an incredible 1.05 ERA during his five-start streak in 1979-80.

If Price manages to extend his streak for one more start, he would join Martinez, Johnson and Ryan as the only pitchers J.J. Watt Jersey in that club. All three of those pitchers also have a seven-start streak on their resume.

Blue Jays withstand Yanks’ rally, walk off with Brett Lawrie Baseball Jersey win win

NYY@TOR: Reyes scores on error as Blue Jays walk off

TORONTO — The Blue Jays showed the type of perseverance on Tuesday night that they didn’t really have in 2013.

Toronto saw a six-run lead evaporate against the Yankees, but instead of folding under the pressure, the club found a way to bounce back. It wasn’t necessarily pretty, but the Blue Jays found a way to hang on just long enough to make it count.

Jose Reyes led off the bottom of the ninth inning with a double and eventually came around to score the game-winning run on an error as the Blue Jays escaped with a 7-6 victory over the Yankees in a game that was sloppy on both sides of the diamond.

“I think if you blow that lead last year, it sucks the wind out of you and you don’t come back,” Blue Jays Authentic Brett Lawrie Jersey manager John Gibbons said. “It wasn’t a real well-played game, but the name of the game is winning. We booted a couple of balls, they threw one Brett Lawrie Jersey Cheap away and we won. You hope it evens out.”

The Blue Jays appeared as though they were on the verge of cruising to another victory after taking a 6-0 lead by the end of the fifth. Dioner Navarro had a three-run homer as part of a three-hit game, and the Yankees made a series of defensive miscues which seemed to indicate it wasn’t their night.

All of that changed in the seventh inning, when Toronto essentially handed its opposition several runs. The issues began with one out, when left-hander Mark Buehrle surrendered a two-run homer to Brian Roberts for the Yankees second baseman’s fourth homer of the year. Two batters later, Buehrle was chased from the game on a bloop double to left.

But that was just the start of the problems.

Right-hander Dustin McGowan came in and walked the first batter he faced before allowing an RBI single to Jacoby Ellsbury. Left fielder Melky Cabrera attempted to make a play at the plate, but his throw bounced off the glove of Navarro and over the head of McGowan, who was too close to the Brett Lawrie Blue Jays Uniforms plate to be considered a proper backup.

McGowan then induced what appeared to be an inning-ending grounder by Mark Teixeira, but Reyes’ throw to first was several feet short of the bag. Edwin Majestic Toronto Blue Jays 13 Brett Lawrie Authentic Womens Alternate Blue Jersey Encarnacion attempted to come up with the high bounce, but his backward movement resulted in a violent collision at first base Youth Toronto Blue Jays Majestic Brett Lawrie Authentic Alternate Blue Jersey with Teixeira. Encarnacion hit the ground hard and two runs came around to tie the game at 6.

This is where some of the Blue Jays admit they would have hung their heads in Brett Lawrie Jersey defeat last season, thinking the game had essentially slipped away. Instead, this version of the ballclub at least managed to stop the damage until an opportunity presented itself later in the game.

“I think even when we had that winning streak [in 2013] and we started losing some games, every time we gave up a run or two in the first inning, I think we got that feeling, ‘[Shoot], we just lost the game,'” said Buehrle, who was charged with four runs over 6 2/3 innings.

“[This season] … as soon as we give up a run BrettLawrie Jersey Shirt in the first inning and we’re winning [games], it’s like, ‘Hey, we’re going to come back and win this game.’ That’s what losing does to you.”

Reyes, who snapped an 0-for-19 skid in the fifth inning with a single to left, provided the spark in the bottom of the ninth. His leadoff double to right off right-hander Adam Warren put the winning run in scoring position, and the pressure was back on New York.

Cabrera followed with a perfectly placed bunt down the third-base line. The intention was to advance the runner to third, but it ended up doing a lot more than that. New York’s Yangervis Solarte fielded the ball cleanly but his throw sailed well wide of first base and went into right field. That allowed Reyes to easily score as the Blue Jays recorded their second walk-off bunt this season.

It was a rather fitting end to a game that saw plenty of fielding lapses on both sides. Reyes finished with two throwing errors, Cabrera and Solarte each had one, and Derek Jeter made a pair of rare mental mistakes which contributed to a Toronto three-run inning in the fifth.

In a game that neither side really deserved to win, the Blue Jays proved they had enough to at least survive.

“It is a different feeling, we’re in first place,” Reyes said. “We’re playing very good baseball. This time last year, we were in last. … What happened last year is in the past. This is a new year for us, and every game we play from now on is going to be huge. We’re going to take it one game at a time and continue to go from there.”

Backed by LoMo’s four hits, Houston Texans Jersey Shirts Felix Felix cruises

BOS@SEA: Morrison homers to center for his fourth RBI

SEATTLE — After scoring just one run for Felix Hernandez while he was on the Texans Store mound in his last three starts, the Mariners took the offensive Monday night in a 12-3 victory over the Houston Texans Jersey Shirts Red Sox at Safeco Field as Logan Morrison led the way with two home runs.

Morrison went 4-for-4 with a walk, four Houston Texans Apparel Store RBIs and three runs scored as he doubled his home run total for the season on a night the Mariners equaled their season high for runs in a game.

It was perfect timing for Morrison to come through with the first two-homer game of his career.

“It feels good if anybody is out there, but obviously Felix goes out there and competes every single time out,” Texans Store located at Houston Morrison said. “You know, all we need to score is three and we haven’t been able to do that. If we could spread these out over his starts, it would probably be a little better for him and better for our win-loss record. But we’ll keep it going and hope it’s a snowball effect and we can keep it going.”

Hernandez pitched seven innings of two-run ball with six hits, no walks and six strikeouts in improving to 9-2 with a 2.24 ERA. Coming in his 17th start, it’s the earliest the Mariners’ ace has ever reached nine wins in his career. He won his ninth game on his 18th start of 2009 on July 9, when he hit 9-3 on the way to a career-best 19-5 season.

The win was the fourth in a row for the Mariners, who improved to 41-36, a seven-win improvement over their record through 77 games last year. The defending World Series champion Red Sox fell to 35-42.

Hernandez had pitched extremely well his last three outings without benefit of any support as he went 0-1 with a pair of no-decisions despite allowing just two earned runs in 22 1/3 innings. Seattle totaled just 13 runs in five games on its just-completed road trip and has struggled much of the year to score at Safeco Field.

But this time Seattle jumped on Red Sox right-hander John Lackey for seven runs in 3 2/3 innings, knocking him out Texans Store Online with six runs in the fourth as Endy Chavez supplied the finishing blow with a bases-loaded triple.

“I was so happy they came through,” said Hernandez, who is 5-1 with a 1.48 ERA over his last eight starts.

The fourth-inning eruption also included a double from Robinson Cano and an RBI single by Kyle Seager, along with two walks and a run-scoring wild pitch. But the killer at-bat might have been a 13-pitch, bases-loaded duel with Dustin Ackley, who eventually drove in a run on a fielder’s-choice grounder when Lackey didn’t get over to first to cover a potential double-play relay throw.

“It was a battle the whole time,” said Ackley. “I was trying to put something in play the whole at-bat to score a run there and he was making pitches. I think there was maybe one or two that I could have handled that I fouled off, but the rest of them were kind of cutters down and in, curveballs down and in, backdoor stuff. I was just trying to put the bat on it Where to buy cheap Houston Texans Jersey the best I could and fortunately it went a long ways and he kind of got tired out a little bit, so we were able to score some right after that.”

That lengthy duel seemed to tire Lackey, who proceeded to fire the wild pitch, issue a walk and reload the bases with a base hit by Willie Bloomquist before Chavez hit Houston Texans Football Team a shot over right fielder Brock Holt’s head for his first triple since 2011 with Texas.

“Ackley put up a heck of an at-bat and John was making quality pitches,” Red Sox manager John Farrell said. “Any time you get into an extended at-bat like that, there’s a little bit of frustration that’s going to take over.”

Lackey, who hadn’t allowed more than three runs in his previous six starts, fell to 8-5 and saw his ERA jump from 2.96 to 3.45 with his shortest outing of the year.

Morrison ripped a solo home run in the second and a two-run shot in the seventh, his third and fourth long balls since coming off the disabled list on June 10. Seager had a three-hit night with a double, two RBIs and Buy Houston Texans Jersey Online two runs.

Hernandez gave up his first home run in his past 12 Buy Texans Jersey Online starts when Mike Napoli just cleared the left-field fence in the fourth inning. Ackley went to the top of the fence to haul in a David Ortiz drive on the previous at-bat, but he ran out of room on Napoli’s blast as the Red Sox took a 2-1 lead.

The four-time All-Star then dug in and allowed just two singles the rest of his night before turning the game over to the bullpen in the eighth with a 12-2 lead. It was Hernandez’s eighth straight start with seven or more innings pitched with two or fewer runs allowed, breaking Randy Johnson’s record for the longest such streak in franchise history.

Putting his name ahead of the Big Unit on that list brought a smile to Hernandez’s face as well on a night when there was plenty to enjoy in the Mariners clubhouse.

“He was really good,” Hernandez said. “I’m happy. That’s all I can say. I’m happy.”

Shoemaker aces test vs. Darvish as J. J. Watt Merchandise Halos Halos sweep Texas

TEX@LAA: Shoemaker fans six over 7 2/3 innings

ANAHEIM — Baseball keeps dealing Matt Shoemaker aces — and he keeps acting like one.

Shoemaker threw 7 2/3 innings of one-run ball, leading the Angels to a 5-2 win over the Rangers and right-hander Yu Darvish on Sunday night at Angel Stadium.

Shoemaker, who Angels manager Mike Scioscia said is J.J. Watt Jersey “like Nolan Ryan” when he pitches, dipped into the eighth inning for his second straight start.

“He may be 10 miles an hour short [of Ryan], but he goes out with that attitude, with that makeup,” Scioscia said. “He goes out with the idea of a gunslinger. ‘I’m going to make my pitches and I’m very, very comfortable in what I need to do out there on the mound.’

“All the clichés you want to say. Trusting your stuff, pitching to contact; I could line them all up. Matty lives it, and it’s great to see.”

The win, completing the Angels’ first three-game home sweep of Texas since April 2007, was the third in a row for the Halos (41-33), while the loss marked the fifth consecutive defeat for the Rangers (35-40). Coupled with Oakland’s loss, the win pulled the Angels within five games of the American League West leaders.

In four of his first six starts, Shoemaker (5-1) has faced All-Stars, including two Cy Young Award winners. The 27-year-old had already matched up with Cliff Lee, David Price, James Shields and Chris Sale, with the Angels winning three of those four games.

Now add Sunday’s victory over Darvish.

“It doesn’t really come into play, but the aftermath is pretty cool,” Shoemaker said. “Those guys have done a lot in this game, and hopefully I Watt Jersey can be in their shoes one day later down the road. It’s definitely something you want to savor.”

Darvish (7-4) struggled early on against the Angels’ lineup, surrendering five runs (four earned) in the first 3 2/3 innings before retiring seven of the final eight batters he faced.

“I think it was more Yu Darvish not being in sync than anything,” Scioscia said. “He was behind in a lot of counts, his pitch count was up. We got into some really good hitting counts against him, and we didn’t miss some pitches.”

C.J. Cron hit his third home run in as many days to give the Angels a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning. Four batters later, Kole Calhoun clanked a homer off the foul pole in right field to extend the Angels’ lead to 5-0.

Darvish allowed at least four earned runs in consecutive starts for the first time since August 2012. He walked four and struck out nine.

“He’s tough,” Scioscia said. “He didn’t quite have the same command today, but he’s always managed a way to pitch us tough and beat us.”

Shoemaker had a potential complete game in Cleveland cut short by a rain delay in the ninth inning. Over his last two starts, he is 2-0 with a 1.72 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP. The Angels won both games.

Shoemaker’s 112 pitches were a career high.

“That was about the limits for Matt,” Scioscia said. “I thought he pitched an outstanding game. That’s a tough offensive lineup over there, and they’re going to let you know when you miss spots. I thought he was on the money all [night], had control of counts.”

“You’ve got to give him credit, he shut us down,” Rangers manager Ron Washington said of Shoemaker. J. J. Watt Merchandise “He had a good breaking ball working. He threw strikes.”

In each of his last six starts, Shoemaker has struck out at least six batters, the longest stretch of any Angels pitcher this season.

Calhoun scored in the bottom of the first to give the Angels a 1-0 lead when a crew chief review overturned the call on the field that ruled Calhoun out. As Calhoun was attempting to steal second, Albert Pujols lined a shot up the middle. Calhoun easily advanced to third and ran home when Leonys Martin‘s throw went up the third-base line.

Darvish collected the errant throw and threw home to beat Calhoun, but after review, Women’s Nike Houston Texans 99 J. J. Watt Limited Navy Blue Team Color Jersey the umpires ruled Rangers catcher Chris Gimenez blocked the plate before he had the ball, J. J. Watt Shirts violating Rule 7.13. Washington was ejected for arguing the ruling.

The Rangers scored in the top of the sixth inning, when Shoemaker attempted to pick Elvis Andrus off first base. The throw bounced J. J. Watt Nike Elite Jesey in J. J. Watt Captain Patch Jersey the dirt and Cron could Houston Texans J. J. Watt 10th Anniversary NFL Jersey not locate the ball until Martin had raced in from third to end the shutout.

Brad Snyder homered off Joe Smith in the ninth for the Rangers’ final run.

MINNEAPOLIS — The Twins’ dramatic 5-4 win over the White Sox on Friday night at Target Field was confirmed by replay review.

With two outs and runners on first Women’s Texans Arian Foster Jersey and second in the bottom of the ninth, Brian Dozier looped a single into left field. Eduardo Escobar slid head-first into home just as the throw from Alejandro De Aza reached catcher Adrian Nieto, and home-plate umpire Andy Fletcher called Escobar safe.

But Arian Foster Houston Texans Jersey for Sale as the celebration at Target Arian Foster Football Women’s Jersey Field began, White Sox manager Robin Ventura spoke with the umpires and they decided to review the play.

“I honestly didn’t think Arian Foster Texans Women’s Jersey he could reach back with his other hand and touch the plate,” Nieto said. “So you’ve got to tip your hat off to that. He did a great job touching with his other hand.”

Replays showed that Nieto blocked Escobar’s left hand from reaching the plate, but Escobar was indeed able to touch the plate with his right hand before Nieto tagged What is Arian Foster Jersey Number in Houston Texans football team him on the lower leg.

“When I saw the replay I was just like, ‘Ah,'” Arian Foster Elite Jersey Nieto said. “But it helps that there’s replay. Unfortunately, it went their way.”

Twins manager Ron Arian Foster Jersey Sale Gardenhire thought that because Nieto blocked the plate, the run should’ve counted either way.

“I know you can make an adjustment to the ball coming in, but Arian Foster Jersey you’re supposed to be in fair territory with your foot,” Gardenhire said. “But I would’ve had an issue if they would have called it [out].”

The review lasted 63 seconds. Fletcher made the “safe” call, and the postgame fireworks show began.

Fister finds groove as Nationals Brian Cushing Jersey blank blank Braves

ATL@WSH: Fister tosses eight scoreless innings

WASHINGTON — Entering Saturday night’s contest, the Braves had defeated the Nationals in seven of eight games this season. Trailing Atlanta by a half-game in the National League East, Washington was in desperate need of a victory over the Braves — if not for the standings, then to maintain whatever confidence remained against this menacing division Brian Cushing Jersey Sale rival.

Doug Fister answered the call.

The right-hander brilliantly spun eight scoreless innings to lead the Nationals to a 3-0 victory at Nationals Park. At 38-35, Washington is back atop the division.

“He controlled Houston Texans Brian Cushing NFL Jersey the strike zone, [threw] all of his Brian Cushing Football Apparel pitches for strikes, [worked] ahead in the count,” Nationals manager Matt Williams said. “All of those things pitchers do when they go deep in Men’s Nike Houston Texans 56 Brian Cushing Elite Lights Out Black Jersey the game.”

Fister said his game plan entering the game was to get 27 ground-ball outs. He has pitched to contact throughout his career, using his sinking fastball and fast pace to take full advantage of the defense behind him. Saturday night, the movement on Fister’s pitches — specifically his sinker and changeup — was on point, and he finished the outing with 12 ground-ball outs

“He was throwing Wiffle balls out there,” Women’s Nike Houston Texans 56 Brian Cushing Limited Navy Blue Team Color Jersey Braves third baseman Chris Johnson said. “The ball was moving everywhere. … I don’t know how he does that. The ball I struck out on, I could have sworn was in the other batter’s box.”

Fister got into trouble in the top of the first inning, though. Singles from B.J. Upton and Freddie Freeman put runners on the corners with one out, but Fister responded, getting a lineout to second and forceout at second to escape the frame unscathed.

“I’m Brian Cushing Football Uniform going to make them put it in play and let the defense work,” Fister said. “I’m trying to get bad contact, popup, whatever it takes, and let the guys work behind me, because that’s what they’re there for. I’m not a big strikeout guy. It’s not going to happen.”

Washington opened the scoring in the bottom of the second inning. Jose Lobaton led off with a single to right field before Fister bunted him over — one of two sacrifice bunts for the pitcher on the night, both of which led to runs. After a Denard Span flyout, Anthony Rendon ripped Brian Cushing Jersey Authentic a single up the middle that scored Lobaton, who avoided a tag from catcher Evan Gattis with a nifty headfirst slide.

“I Brian Cushing Jersey saw him a little bit to the right side and I said ‘OK, I’ve got to go around,'” Lobaton said. “Just instincts, I didn’t [think] about it.”

The Nationals added a second run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Adam LaRoche walked with one out to bring up Ryan Zimmerman. During Zimmerman’s at-bat, Braves starter Julio Teheran — who struck out 10 batters over seven innings — appeared to have a serious miscommunication with Gattis and stepped off the mound twice. When he tried a third time, home-plate umpire Clint Fagan called a balk, advancing LaRoche to second base.

Zimmerman made Teheran pay with an RBI single up the middle that brought LaRoche home easily to give the Nationals a 2-0 lead.

“I’ve been hitting the ball and not really getting anything to show for it,” Zimmerman said. “To be able to grind out that at-bat and get us an extra run right there after he makes a mistake was huge for our team.”

Meanwhile, Fister settled in after the first inning. He retired seven straight batters stretching into the fourth inning, and didn’t allow another hit until Andrelton Simmons dropped a bloop single in front of Zimmerman in left field in the fifth inning.

Fister allowed just five hits and one walk with three strikeouts on 117 pitches over eight innings, his longest start of 2014, before closer Rafael Soriano pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his 16th save.

Fister’s extended outing couldn’t have come at a better time, either, considering the Nationals went 13 innings against the Braves on Friday night and put a major dent into an already-weakened bullpen.

“After an extra-inning game like we had, we burned a lot of arms,” reliever Ross Detwiler said. “Doug going in, especially in a shutout, he was in control the whole time. And it’s incredible just to be able to hand the ball over to your closer.”

Rendon came through with two outs for a second time in the bottom of the seventh inning to provide insurance for Fister. He drilled a hanging slider from Teheran over the head of center fielder B.J. Upton for an RBI double, scoring Lobaton to give the Nationals a three-run advantage.

And for the first time since April 6, and just the second time this season, the Nationals defeated the Braves.

“Everybody’s just playing loose baseball,” Fister said. “And that’s what we need right now.”
