Yan Gomes Blue Jays Josh Donaldson Jersey, Indians beat Astros

HOUSTON — The Indians continued their dominance of the Astros, polishing off a three-game sweep of Houston on Sunday afternoon behind a career-high Josh Donaldson Women’s Jersey five RBIs from Yan Gomes — including a three-run homer — in an 8-6 win at Minute Maid Park.

The three-game skid matches the longest of the season for the Astros, who went 1-5 against the Tribe this season. Every game in the season series had been close prior to Sunday, when the Indians rocked Astros starter Joe Musgrove (3-4) for seven runs on eight hits in three-plus innings and jumped to an 8-1 lead, before holding off the Astros late.

Full Game Coverage

“We got on them early and we stayed on them,” Indians manager Terry Francona said. “We definitely have a respect for them. They keep playing. There’s a reason they have a lot of come-from-behind wins.”

Gomes, Jason Kipnis, Edwin Encarnacion and Bradley Zimmer each collected two hits for the Indians.

Indians starter Danny Salazar (3-4) held the Astros to three runs, including homers by Carlos Beltran and Jose Altuve, on four hits and struck out seven batters in 5 2/3 innings.

The Astros rallied in the ninth when Marwin Gonzalez clubbed a two-out, two-run homer, capping a 13-pitch at-bat against Zach McAllister, and Alex Bregman followed with a shot to cut the deficit to 8-6. Four of the Astros’ six hits were homers.

“Nothing went really right today after Josh Donaldson Youth Jersey the first inning,” Astros manager A.J. Hinch said. “This is a good team across the way. We all know that. They’re an excellent team when you give them an extra 90 feet, and we did that multiple times with some walks, and that’s a difficult way to live versus a good team.”

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Two-out walks set up Gomes: Musgrove recorded two ground-ball outs to start the third inning before issuing consecutive walks to Encarnacion and Lonnie Chisenhall, setting up Gomes to break the game open. He launched a 457-foot home run to left field, according to Statcast™, which is the longest by an Indians player this season, besting Francisco Lindor’s 456-foot blast on April 27 off the Astros’ Chris Devenski.

“The two-out walks really put him in jeopardy, and then obviously the big home run on a misexecuted pitch,” Hinch said. “With Joe, it’s a fine line of command and control and being inside the strike zone too much versus having his command and control fall apart.”

Squandered chance: Considering the Indians’ vaunted bullpen is a big reason why they are 17-0 when leading after six innings, the Astros lamented stranding a couple of runners in scoring position in the fourth. Two outs after Altuve hit a two-run homer to cut the Blue Jays Canada Day Jersey to 8-3, the Astros put runners at second and third for Bregman. He was third in the American League in batting average with runners in scoring position (.394) entering the game, but he flied out to right field.

“This is the hottest team [Astros] in the AL. It was good to come in here and know that at some point, we’re the hottest team in the AL. It was good to come in here and prove that we can play good baseball and win some ballgames.” — Gome Josh Donaldson Jersey, on handing the Astros their first sweep of the season

“It shouldn’t surprise anyone who watches the Astros. This is how we play. That’s the bottom line. He represents that in that at-bat.” — Hinch, on Gonzalez’s homer to end a 13-pitch at-bat with two outs in the ninth

TOLLIVER DEALS, THEN OPTIONED
Houston optioned lefty reliever Ashur Tolliver to Triple-A Fresno following Sunday’s game after throwing four innings in his Astros debut and first big league appearance since last June 24. He allowed one run on two hits, striking out five batters. With Tolliver down for a few days and long reliever Brad Peacock making a spot start on Monday, the Astros need a fresh arm.

“He picked us up big,” Hinch said. “We needed him to lengthen the game as much as he could. … He went on a pitching clinic. He really did a good job mixing his pitches. The more tired he got, the better he got. Whether that’s relaxing and getting into the big leagues for the first time in a while or whatever, he picked us up.”

WHAT’S NEXT
Indians: Cleveland begins a two-game set in Cincinnati at 7:10 p.m. ET on Monday before returning home to play the Reds for another two. Josh Tomlin will make his ninth start of the season for the Indians. Scott Feldman is scheduled to start for the Reds.

Astros: Peacock will make a spot start as the Astros continue their homestand with four games against the Tigers, starting at 7:10 p.m. CT on Monday. Making his first start of the season, the Josh Donaldson Canada Day Jersey right-hander has been solid in relief, with a .127 batting average against.

Indians’ Bradley Zimmer hits first home run Josh Donaldson Jersey Canada

CLEVELAND — Bradley Zimmer had two Josh Donaldson Jersey baseballs in his possession after his first milestone game in the Major Leagues.

One was from the double that the Indians rookie sent bouncing high off the left-field wall for his first career hit in the third inning of Wednesday’s 7-4 loss to the Rays. The other was from the home run he launched in the ninth. That second ball required some bartering. The Indians fan who caught the blast headed home with an autographed bat and baseball.

Full Game Coverage

“Good deal,” Zimmer said with a smile.

It was a tough day for the Tribe but a memorable one for Zimmer, who felt much more relaxed after being overwhelmed with nerves for his big league debut on Tuesday night. When Zimmer slowed into second base after his RBI double off Alex Cobb, a calm washed over him. Getting that first one out of the way slowed the game down some.

Zimmer scanned the Progressive Field stands for his parents and grandmother, but could not spot them. He looked Josh Donaldson Women’s Jersey again after he crossed home plate following his homer off Alex Colome. Once again, he was unable to find them. When Zimmer does see his family, he will have a pair of baseballs to present as gifts — one for his mom and one for his dad.

Who gets the home run?

“I feel like I have to give the homer to my mom,” Zimmer said.

Zimmer — ranked No. 19 on MLBPipeline.com’s Top 100 Prospects list — was promoted from Triple-A Columbus prior to Tuesday’s game. Fighting nerves, the outfielder went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts in his debut as the Tribe’s new center fielder. Zimmer looked more at ease on Wednesday, when he ended the afternoon 2-for-4 with the two extra-base hits and a pair of runs scored.

The opposite-field double in the Josh Donaldson Youth Jersey third backed up up a pregame assessment of Zimmer’s swing by Indians hitting coach Ty Van Burkleo. The coach explained that Zimmer’s left-handed swing was conducive to generating extra-base hits off the 19-foot wall in left field.

“There’s unbelievable power, especially the way he hits balls to left field,” Van Burkleo said. “This park plays big over there, especially for a left-handed hitter. He’s got enough power that he can pepper that wall and go over it when the conditions aren’t wind blowing in like they are in April. That’s his strength. When he stays through balls, he really can drive them.”

After Zimmer’s double, Rays third baseman Evan Longoria made sure the baseball found its way to the Cleveland dugout.

“It’s a matter of getting that one hit, looking at his parents,” Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor said. “His mom is probably proud. He might get a little teary-eyed. It’s cool. It’s special.”

Two batters later, Jason Kipnis singled through the hole on the left side, giving Zimmer a chance to show off his Josh Donaldson Canada Day Jersey speed. The 24-year-old outfielder got a great jump and motored around third, as left fielder Corey Dickerson gloved the ball and came up firing to catcher Jesus Sucre. Zimmer’s headfirst slide avoided a tag from Sucre as he scored his first Major League run.

Zimmer’s solo home run off Colome came on an 0-1 cutter, which flew off the rookie’s bat at 102 mph, per Statcast™. On Tuesday, Lindor chatted with Zimmer and joked that the rookie should be careful not to trip over first base like the shortstop did on his first career hit two years ago.

“He also said, ‘Don’t sprint around the bases if you hit a home run,'” Zimmer said with a laugh. “I think at one point I was running pretty hard, but then I slowed down as I got to second. It was a lot of fun.”

Three HRs, Joe Montana Jersey Alex Cobb lead Rays to W over Tribe

CLEVELAND — While Rays starter Alex Cobb limited the damage on Wednesday
Joe Montana Jersey afternoon, Tampa Bay’s offense did plenty of its own in a 7-4 win over the Indians at Progressive Field. Behind three more home runs, the Rays took two out of three in the series against Cleveland.

“Obviously a great series,” Rays manager Kevin Cash said. “It’s a pretty challenging task to go into Boston and come here and find a way to have a
Men’s Vintate 1994 San Francisco 49ers Jerry Rice 75th Anniversary Patch Throwback Jersey Red winning road trip. I’m really happy and proud of the way the guys went about it, especially after losing the first game here.”

Rookie Bradley Zimmer highlighted the Indians’ offense with a home run and RBI double — both firsts for the team’s top prospect.

Corey Dickerson led the charge for the Rays’ offense, launching a three-run home run that helped send Tribe starter Josh Tomlin to an early exit. Logan Men’s Vintage 1989 San Francisco 49ers Joe Montana Mitchell and Ness Throwback Jersey Red Morrison and Jesus Sucre also went deep for Tampa Bay to give the club 10 home runs in the three-game series, and 59 shots on the season.

The 10 homers established a Rays record for a three-game set. The previous

Rays set club record for homers in a three-game set

Cobb picked up the win after holding the Indians to three runs on six hits over seven innings, in which he struck out seven and walked one. Zimmer delivered
Men’s Nike Custom Made San Francisco 49ers Elite Red Team Color NFL Jersey for Sale an RBI double off Cobb in a two-run outburst in the third, and Michael Brantley later added a run-scoring double of his own in the fifth. Zimmer came through with a solo homer to center off Alex Colome.

“Today is the best I’ve felt since I came back from surgery,” said Cobb, referring to his 2015 Tommy John surgery. “Just the ability to get to another level of aggressiveness over the rubber, and feeling compact and driving to certain
Jerry Rice Jersey directions. It all felt really good. It’s the feeling I’ve been looking for.”

One day after righty Danny Salazar allowed five runs (four on solo homers) against the Rays, Tomlin was chased after giving up six runs on seven hits in 2 1/3 innings for the Tribe. Dickerson’s home run (No. 9 on the year) punctuated a
Jerry Rice 75th Anniversary Jersey four-run second inning, and Morrison later came through with his solo shot (No. 11) in the third. Sucre went deep off
Men’s Nike Custom Made San Francisco 49ers Elite Red Team Color NFL Jersey for Sale reliever Shawn Armstrong in the ninth.

The game ended when Kevin Kiermaier robbed Jason Kipnis of a home run with an incredible leaping catch in center field.

“The wind was doing crazy things this whole series, and I just wanted to give myself a chance,” Kiermaier said. “Do I want to try climbing the wall right now, or do I jump? I just chose to jump, and thankfully I caught the ball at its highest point.”

Rays hit five home Custom Rockies Jersey runs in win over Indians

CLEVELAND — The Rays entered Tuesday’s game against the Indians fifth in the

“Good win,” Rays manager Kevin Cash said. “We talked yesterday about how — hopefully — the offense would kind of carry over. It seemed like it did. I know we got a lot of solo shots in there, and then Beck came up with the big two-run blast. The offense definitely carried over into this game and got us a nice cushion for Odo to work with.”

Closer Alex Colome recorded the final three outs of the game to pick up his 10th save.

“It was good,” said Odorizzi when asked about his performance. “We got a win, that’s all that matters. I felt good. I got into a nice groove. … Kind of lost the groove a little bit. … It’s on me I didn’t go deeper into the game.”

“I missed spots with all of them,” Salazar said on the home runs. “It doesn’t matter. The way I feel right now, it doesn’t matter what I do out there. They looked so comfortable against me today. The first inning, it was like, ‘I got this.’ But then after that, they got too comfortable.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Dickerson doubles down: After Norris hit a leadoff home run off Salazar in the third, Dickerson followed with a home run of his own. The Rays designated
Men’s Los Angeles Dodgers Authentic Personalized Royal Blue MLB BP Jersey Cheap hitter jumped on a first-pitch fastball from Salazar for a 385-foot homer to the seats in right. After recording the first out of the inning, Armstrong surrendered a two-run home run to Beckham, giving the Rays a 6-1 lead. This homer proved to be important, as the Indians countered with three runs in the home half of the inning. Two came via Encarnacion’s homer. Beckham’s home run to the bleachers in left-center field had an exit velocity of 100 mph combined with a 27-degree launch angle, per Statcast™.

“Very much so. I thought early on, it’s so hard, it’s real hard to see the first three innings — for both teams. And he stayed on it and hit it to right, and I thought that was a good sign. … Even his last at-bat, getting jammed, but staying through it enough to, there’s a hole over there. I think he deserves a couple of those. Yeah, it is good for him, man. It’s good for us.” — Francona, on Encarnacion’s home run

ZIMMER’S MLB DEBUT
Center fielder Bradley Zimmer, who is Cleveland’s No.1-ranked prospect and the 19th-ranked prospect in baseball by MLBPipeline.com, went 0-for-3 in his Major League debut. Rays: Right-hander Alex Cobb (3-3, 3.65) will make his ninth start of the season Wednesday when the Rays and Indians wrap up their three-game series in a

Custom Dodgers Jersey Indians Danny Salazar struggles in outing

CLEVELAND — Danny Salazar’s season has ventured into enigmatic territory. The Indians starter continues to pile up strikeouts at a rapid rate, but his 2017 line
Custom Dodgers Jersey  has taken a hit in light of the walks allowed and home runs surrendered. It has been a perplexing stretch for Tribe pitcher.

In a 6-4 loss to the Rays on Tuesday night, Salazar found both ends of the pitching spectrum once again. He struck out nine with his overpowering mix of a high-velocity fastball and disappearing split-change. Unfortunately for
Custom Rockies Jersey Cleveland, Salazar also yielded a quartet of home runs,
Men’s Authentic Custom Colorado Rockies Home White Baseball Jersey Cheap including two to Corey Dickerson, to sink his team’s chances.

Full Game Coverage

After the loss, Indians manager Terry Francona was searching for the right
Personalized Colorado Rockies Jersey adjective to use.

“One is ‘vexing,'” Francona said.

Through eight starts, Salazar is searching for answers.

His biggest issue before Tuesday was allowing runs in the first frame. Following his previous outing in Toronto, where Salazar allowed three more first-inning runs, the pitcher discussed potentially ditching the use of weighted balls in his throwing program. Against the Rays, Salazar was aggressive out of the gate,
Men’s Authentic Customized Colorado Rockies Alternate Navy Blue Baseball Jersey turning in a one-two-three first with two strikeouts.

Getting off on the right foot wasn’t the problem this time. Neither was throwing strikes, considering Salazar had a 69-percent strike rate in his 90-pitch effort. No,
Personalized Los Angeles Dodgers Jersey the issue this time was the damage done on the six hits he relinquished in his five innings. Four were home runs, and each pitch found a hot zone for Colby Rasmus (solo shot in the second), Derek Norris (solo shot in the third) and Dickerson (solos in the third and fifth).

“I missed spots with all of them,” Salazar said. “The way I feel right now, it
Men’s Los Angeles Dodgers Authentic Personalized Royal Blue MLB BP Jersey Cheap doesn’t matter what I do out there. They looked so comfortable against me today. The first inning, it was like, ‘I got this.’ But then after that, they got too comfortable. They’re a really aggressive team.”

On the season, Salazar has a 5.66 ERA in 41 1/3 innings, while averaging 13.5 strikeouts per nine innings. The hard-throwing righty has a 33.2-percent strikeout rate, but that is off-set by his 10.7-percent walk rate and the two home runs he is allowing per nine innings.

The home run to Rasmus came on a four-seamer middle-in. According to Statcast™, the Rays outfielder had a .750 slugging percentage on four-seamers to that area of the strike zone off righties over the 2015-17 seasons, entering Tuesday. Norris’ homer came on an elevated slider over the middle. He had turned in a .741 slugging percentage on that pitch to that zone over the past three years.

The same was found in both Dickerson blasts. The first was a four-seamer middle-in, which had resulted in a .750 slugging percentage off righties over the
Youth Authentic Los Angeles Dodgers Customized Home White Baseball Jersey Cheap ’15-17 campaigns. The next home run was a two-seamer down, but over the middle. Dickerson had slugged 1.167 against right-handed versions of that pitch Website to that zone over the last three years.

“When he missed, he missed,” Francona said. “I thought he was better tonight. I really do [think so]. I thought he came out of the gate and tried to find his stuff early. It’s just, when he made a mistake, he really paid for it.”

Custom Orioles Jersey Carlos Carrasco hopes to make next start

CLEVELAND — The Indians are optimistic that Carlos Carrasco’s minor chest injury will not force a shakeup of the starting rotation.

On Tuesday, Tribe manager Terry Francona noted that Carrasco — removed from
Custom Orioles Jersey Monday’s 8-7 win over the Rays after 3 2/3 innings due to a left pectoral strain — will be shut down for the next two days, while receiving treatment. Then the right-hander will resume a five-day throwing program with

“I think Carlos feels like he’ll be more than ready,” Francona said. “The trainers

The Indians’ scheduled off-day on Thursday allows the team to shuffle its rotation rather than reaching to Triple-A Columbus for a replacement for Carrasco.

Barring anything unexpected, Cleveland’s upcoming probable pitchers, following Danny Salazar on Tuesday, will be Josh Tomlin (Wednesday vs. Rays), Trevor Bauer (Friday at Astros) and Mike Clevinger (Saturday at Astros). Salazar would

If Carrasco’s setback only requires him being pushed back a handful of days, that will be great news for the Indians, who are already without ace Corey Kluber (10-day disabled list with a lower back strain). On the season, Carrasco has gone

“It’s not going to be a long period of time for either [Carrasco or Kluber],” Tomlin said. “So we just have to try to keep our heads above water as long as we can and

The series finale between the Rays and the Indians at Progressive Field on Wednesday will see a pair of right-handers face off, as Indians starter Josh
Personalized Houston Astros Jersey Tomlin and Rays starter Alex Cobb will take the mound.

After he allowed three or more runs in each of his first five starts — including 13 runs in 6 1/3 innings pitched in his first two starts — with an 8.87 ERA, Tomlin delivered back-to-back one-run outings in his last two starts against the Royals

“I just have to keep trying to do the same thing,” Tomlin said of his upcoming start. “I need to locate the ball and try to keep the hitters off the barrel as much as I can. Try to get their hitters to put the ball in play and let the defense work. That is how I’m going to be successful if I am going to be successful.”

Tomlin will look to continue his recent success as he is scheduled to make his seventh career start against the Rays. In six previous starts against Tampa Bay in
Youth Authentic Custom Houston Astros Home White Commemorative 50th Anniversary Patch Jersey his career, Tomlin has gone 2-2 with a 4.06 ERA in 37 2/3 innings pitched.

Cobb will pitch opposite of Tomlin and will make his ninth start of the season. The right-hander has allowed three earned runs or less in each of his last four starts, and is coming off his third win of the season after he pitched 6 1/3 innings and allowed three earned runs on four hits against the Red Sox on Friday.
Custom Twins Jersey Despite Cobb’s struggles with trying to find his changeup early on this season, he has found success mixing his fastball and curveball effectively.

“He’s done a tremendous job,” Rays manager Kevin Cash said of Cobb. “I think he’s proven to himself that he can go out there and quiet offenses down with that approach. The curveball has just become an elite weapon he’s been able to throw early for strikes. He’s been able to put away guys with it.

“I think he would tell you that it all comes off the fastball and the fastball

Three things to know about this game

• Thanks to his time with the Blue Jays, Edwin Encarnacion has a history with several of Tampa Bay’s starting pitchers. Although he has struggled out of the chute, Encarnacion may be looking forward to facing off against Cobb, as the designated hitter has had some success in his career against the Rays right-hander. In 12 career at-bats against Cobb, Encarnacion has collected four hits — including a double and a homer — and four RBIs with three walks and a 1.078 OPS.

• The 30 called strikes Cobb piled up in his last outing at Boston tied Dallas
Personalized Minnesota Twins Jersey Keuchel for the most by a pitcher in a game this season. The only previous time Cobb had gotten so many was on Aug.
Women’s Personalized Minnesota Twins Authentic Home White Baseball Jersey 23, 2012, against the A’s (31).

• As a result of outfielders Brandon Guyer and Abraham Almonte both being recently added to the disabled list, the Indians made several roster moves before Tuesday’s game. The biggest move may have been the promotion of top prospect Bradley Zimmer from the Minors. As a result of the 24-year-old outfielder being recalled along with right-handed reliever Shawn Armstrong, Yandy Diaz was optioned to Triple-A Columbus.

Custom Twins Jersey Indians promote top prospect Bradley Zimmer

The Cleveland Indians announced on Tuesday that they are promoting top prospect Bradley Zimmer to the Major Leagues to make his debut against the
Custom Twins Jersey Tampa Bay Rays.

Zimmer will take the roster spot of Abraham Almonte, who, after suffering a strained right biceps on Monday, has been placed on the 10-day disabled list,

Ranked 19th on MLBPipeline.com’s Top 100 Prospects list, Zimmer gets the call after an impressive start to his season at Triple-A Columbus. In 33 games, he
Custom Astros Jersey batted .294/.371/.532 with five home runs, 11 doubles, two triples, 14 RBIs, nine stolen bases and 22 runs scored.

Zimmer had been especially hot, batting .419/.514/.710 with 13 hits, two home runs, three doubles, six walks and three steals in eight games prior to his
Youth Authentic Custom Houston Astros Home White Commemorative 50th Anniversary Patch Jersey promotion. The torrid stretch landed the 24-year-old a spot on MLBPipeline.com’s most recent Prospect Team of the Week.

The Indians selected Zimmer with the 21st overall pick in the 2014 Draft out of the University of San Francisco just two years after the Royals took his older brother Kyle with the No. 4 overall pick. He made an immediate impact and

While Zimmer struggled in his first taste of the Eastern League, hitting just .219/.313/.374 in 49 games, it was revealed after the season that he’d been playing with a hairline fracture in his right foot, sapping much of his power and speed.
Zimmer’s fantasy expectations Zinkie breaks down Zimmer’s fantasy outlookMLB.com fantasy writer Fred Zinkie dishes about Bradley Zimmer’s fantasy outlook after the top prospect was called up by the Indians

Zimmer returned to Akron to begin 2016 and quickly laid all concern regarding a lingering injury to rest by posting a .253/.371/.471 line with 14 homers and 33 steals en route to a Triple-A promotion. But for a second straight year, Zimmer struggled to translate his game at the higher level.

As it would turn out, the left-handed-hitting outfielder had spent much of the season working with the Indians’ staff to revamp his swing. Specifically, shortening the length of his bat path through the zone and becoming more open in his stance.

Zimmer’s progress in rebuilding his swing was on full display during his standout campaign in the prestigious Arizona Fall League, and he then built on that success in Spring Training, hitting .358 with nine extra-base hits, 14 RBIs and
Personalized Minnesota Twins Jersey a 1.084 OPS in 23 Cactus League games.

Zimmer’s impressive combination of power and speed — each grading as a 55 on the 20-80 scouting scale — has long been his calling card, with scouts pegging him as a potential 20-20 candidate in the big leagues at the time he was drafted. In his first two full seasons (2015-16), he totaled 16 HR/44 SB and 15/38, respectively.
Youth Authentic Customized Minnesota Twins Navy Blue Alternate Road Jersey For his career, Zimmer has swiped 103 bases in 131 attempts (78.6 percent) in 338 games.

Zimmer’s speed also makes him a plus defender in center field, where — thanks to an athletic 6-foot-5, 220-pound frame — he covers large swaths of space with long, graceful strides. His above-average arm strength is another strength, and it gives him the ability to play either right of left field.

Zimmer’s detractors point to his perennially high strikeout rates and low batting averages as reason for concern regarding his potential output in the big leagues — which is fair. He fanned a career-high 30.7 percent of the time while batting .250 in 2016, and he’s a .270 hitter with a 25.9-percent clip in his career.

However, Zimmer always has compensated for his lack of consistent contact with high walk and an on-base rates, maintaining a consistent approach as he’s climbed in the Minor League ladder. In 1,460 career plate appearances, he’s posted an 11.4 percent walk rate with a .372 on-base percentage.

Zimmer has also improved against left-handed pitching, batting .323 with four extra-base hits in 37 plate appearances this season after hitting just .179 against southpaws in 2016.

Though injuries have played a part in the timing of Zimmer’s promotion, the
Website Indians believe that the 24-year-old is more than ready to handle any and all challenges the Major Leagues present. He’s likely to experience some
Women’s Personalized Minnesota Twins Authentic Home White Baseball Jersey growing pains early in his big league career, but Zimmer has the across-the-board tools and baseball acumen needed to make adjustments and enjoy success at the highest level.

“You could tell both starters were probably a tick off tonight,” Rays manager Kevin Cash said. “But get an early run, they bounce back and score five,

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Chisenhall caps off five-run first: After the Rays scored the game’s first run in the top of the first inning, the Indians responded in the bottom half of the inning by taking advantage of Archer’s early command issues. Archer threw 21 pitches (14 balls) to the Tribe’s first six hitters, and allowed two runs, prompting a mound visit. The right-hander then fell behind, 2-0, to Chisenhall and left a

“With Archer, his stuff is so good. We were able to lay off,” Indians manager Terry Francona said. “He was scattering some balls early. Fortunately, we didn’t go out of the zone too much. When Lonnie gets a big hit it ends up being a crooked number, which ends up probably winning the game for us.”

Guyer out four to six weeks with wrist sprain

Goody limits the damage: After Carrasco was removed from the game, reliever Nick Goody inherited a dicey situation. With runners on first and second and two outs, the right-hander allowed an RBI double to Longoria, cutting Cleveland’s lead to 7-5. After an intentional walk to Morrison to load the bases, Goody got Souza to roll over on a slider away, resulting in an inning-ending groundout that stranded the tying run.

“He wasn’t letting it go, and you start to worry a little bit,” Francona said. “We’ll certainly look at him more tomorrow. We’ll have a much better read. But it’s hopefully, maybe a couple days could remedy that. We’ll see.”

Indians outfielder Abraham Almonte also left the game after aggravating a right biceps injury that first came up on Wednesday in Toronto. He was replaced in right field by outfielder Daniel Robertson, and is headed to the disabled list.
